Deriving its name from the Watershed Nature Center that it borders, the Watershed Trail is a 5-mile asphalt trail that begins at W. Union St. in Edwardsville and extends northwest past the Watershed Nature Center to Wanda Rd. in Roxana. Wanda Rd. provides a 2-mile on-road connection south to New Poag Rd., which offers a 3.5 mile on-road connection west to the Confluence Trail and a 1.5 mile connection east to the Bluff Trail.

Parking is available in Edwardsville at the Park and Bike Lot on Russell Rd. and at the Watershed Nature Center on Tower Ave. adjacent to the N.O. Nelson Elementary School.
