MCT Trails Closures and Construction

MCT Confluence Trail Closure
The MCT Confluence Trail will close in November 2018 to allow for the reconstruction of the Terminal Railroad Bridge over the Mississippi River. The trail closure will be from the end of the McKinley Bridge north to Levee Ramp off E Street in America’s Central Port, Granite City. Construction is estimated to be complete late 2020. For your safety, please avoid this area.

MCT Confluence Trail Closure
The MCT Confluence Trail is closed from the southeast end of the pedestrian bridge over Wood River to southeasterly 0.6 miles to Canal Road for heavy construction work along the levee of the Mississippi River. Also the connecting trail that runs north along the Wood River Creek levee will be closed at South Street in East Alton. The trail is scheduled to reopen March 1, 2019. For your safety, please avoid this area.

MCT Nickel Plate Trail Closure
The MCT Nickel Plate Trail is closed from Blackburn Road to Fruit Road due to the I-55 Bridge deck replacement. The closure will begin Tuesday, November 21, 2017 and is scheduled to reopen September 1, 2018. Trail users shall follow the marked detour route on Blackburn Road and Fruit Road.
