MCT Raises Bikeway Bridge over 162 in Troy
Madison County Transit (MCT) added a crucial link to its extensive MCT Trails Bikeway system by raising a 165 foot-long bikeway bridge over Route 162 just west of Troy, Illinois on Tuesday, October 25, around 1:15 p.m. Cranes hoisted the 40-ton bridge into place 17.3 feet above the road but the trail will not open to the public until paving on the sloped approaches are complete. The entire MCT Schoolhouse Connector Trail is scheduled to open in fall 2006.
